Depart Strahan Aerodrome and fly to Cradle Mountain and Lake St Clair World Heritage Area. We fly past Queenstown climbing over the lunar landscape of Mt Lyell and past the picturesque Lake Burbury to Mt Olympus. We then overfly Lake St Clair and the beginning of the Overland Track. We pass through the spectacular cirque of mountains - The Acropolis - before rounding Mt Ossa, the highest mountain in Tasmania. Following Mt Pelion and Mt Oakley we then round Cradle Mountain to reveal Dove Lake, Crater Lake and Fury Gorge, the deepest gorge in Australia. We view Barn Bluff and Eildon Peak and fly over Lake Margaret, the first Hydro dam in Tasmania with the unique King Billy Pine pipelines before we return to Strahan.
